Winter warms up thru 3 weeks of passion, Scenes from the IWC graduation ceremony

Asia's largest international winter campus 3-week schedule completed

Korea University held the 2023-2024 International Winter Campus (IWC) graduation ceremony at Inchon Memorial Hall on Friday, January 12th at 5:30 p.m.

Held at the largest scale ever in Asia, about 1,400 students from 300 universities in 40 countries, including Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States, Australia, Canada, France, and Brazil, participated in the 2023-2024 Korea University IWC. Students enrolled in over 40 subjects in fields such as economics and humanities for three weeks from Tuesday, December 26 to Friday, January 12, and participated in wide-ranging activities.

Song Sang-kee, Vice President for International Affairs and Dean of the International Winter College said delivering the congratulatory address, “Although all students initially engaged from different countries and backgrounds, they were able to become one through their passion for learning. I hope you leave with fond memories to cherish from meeting new cultures and making new friends. If you have the opportunity, I hope you will come back to the Korea University IWC to be held in December 2024.”

IWC faculty representative Professor Cho Sung-dai of the State University of New York at Binghamton also congratulated the students. Professor Cho said, “Congratulations on completing the International Winter University. It is an honor to have been able to teach at IWC for the past 10 years. “We hope that you will practice lifelong learning, expand the scope of education, and strive for diversity and sustainability.”

IWC Representing the IWC students, Oliver Hutton from the University of Melbourne said, “Korea has long been the number one country I had wanted to travel to. My experience over the past three weeks completely exceeded my expectations about Korea. Experiencing daily life in Korea through various activities outside of lectures is an unforgettable experience.”

The IWC graduation ceremony concluded with the Media & Testimonial contest award ceremony, the screening of a commemorative video, and group photos. The students expressed their gratitude to the faculty who participated in the graduation ceremony with a Korean-style bow.

이번 Following the conclusion of this IWC, the International Summer Campus (ISC) will be held in June 2024. The 2024 International Summer Campus will be held in two types, 4-week and 6-week programs, starting from Wednesday, June 26. Students can apply to participate from Monday, January 15th to Friday, May 17th.
