Korea University took its first step in supporting KU Circle for Miracle, a group-based donation campaign.

On Sunday, May 5, at 9:30 AM, in the Second Conference Room of the Main Hall, Korea University held the donation agreement ceremony with the College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology Alumni Association for the KU Circle for Miracle.

The KRW 300 million donated by the College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology Alumni Association will be used for the school’s development fund.

그While donations to Korea University have primarily been made in the form of individual contributions, the recently launched KU Circle for Miracle is a fundraising campaign aimed at raising awareness of the value of donations by encouraging groups of like-minded individuals to make joint donations. Alumni from the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Food Bioscience and Technology have already come together to provide financial support for the development fund, and other alumni groups are also in the process of raising funds.

At the donation ceremony, Jeon Byeong-il, President of the College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology Alumni Association, said, “It is truly rewarding to see the alumni of the College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology coming together to make a donation in celebration of the anniversary of Korea University’s foundation. I believe this donation will serve as a steppingstone for over 300,000 alumni to fully celebrate the upcoming 120th anniversary of Korea University.”

In response, Korea University President Kim Dong-one said, “Thank you very much for being the first supporters of KU Circle for Miracle, which will be a new catalyst for Korea University’s development. The generous donation the College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology Alumni Association made to the development fund will serve as a cornerstone for Korea University as it takes new steps towards a great future in anticipation of its 120th anniversary. Once again, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology Alumni Association for its support for the advancement of Korea University.”

Korea University plans to utilize the funds raised through the KU Circle for Miracle campaign to successfully carry out projects initiated in commemoration of its 120th anniversary, including those focusing on improving infrastructure and strengthening research and educational capabilities, in this way preparing Korea University for the next 120 years of its journey.
