The Department of History Education Alumni Association has joined the ‘KU Circle for Miracles' fundraising campaign, a group donation campaign, donating 200 million won in development funds and scholarships.

On Thursday, June 20th, at 10 AM, Korea University held the ‘KU Circle for Miracles Department of History Education Alumni Association Donation Pledge Ceremony' in the President's Chamber in the Main Hall. Twelve members of the History Education Alumni Association participated, demonstrating their unified commitment to this meaningful act of giving.

The development funds and scholarships donated by the History Education Alumni Association will be used to support the academic pursuits and skills development of students in the Department of History Education.

The ‘KU Circle for Miracles' fundraising campaign aims to promote the value of donation by encouraging like-minded individuals to contribute collectively. The Department of History Education Alumni Association is the third to join the campaign, following a donation from an anonymous group and the participation of College of Life Sciences Alumni Association, thus contributing to the spread of a culture of giving.

Kim Ji-hee, President of the Department of History Education Alumni Association, who attended the donation ceremony, said, "The 40th anniversary of the Department of History Education was the catalyst for this donation. We feel a sense of fulfillment in coming together as an alumni association in order to participate in this meaningful endeavor on behalf of our alma mater." She added, "We hope this donation will contribute to the development of the Department of History Education and help our juniors grow into leaders who will shape the future."

In response, President Kim Dong-one said, "We extend our gratitude to the History Education Alumni Association for their contribution to Korea University's development. By providing wholehearted support for the advancement of the Department of History Education, they have put into practice the virtuous cycle of giving." He continued, "The development funds and scholarships donated as part of the ‘KU Circle for Miracles' campaign will serve as a solid foundation for students in the Department of History Education to grow into talented individuals in their respective fields."

Meanwhile, Korea University plans to use the funds from the ‘KU Circle for Miracles' campaign to successfully carry out projects commemorating the 120th anniversary of its founding, including the improvement of infrastructure and enhancement of research and educational capabilities. These efforts will prepare the university for its next 120 years of progress.
