KU Institute for Sustainability
The KU Institute for Sustainability oversees activities related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) within the university and leads efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Planning Division: Developing Sustainability Policies
- Formulates and implements sustainability strategies and action plans
- Enhances communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Strengthens cooperation with local communities
- Manages website and social media, publishes newsletters and annual reports, and provides university assessment data with respect to performance reporting and evaluation
Business Division: Implementing Sustainability Policies
- Implements a Net ZERO Waste campus: Reduces carbon emissions, reduces waste, and promotes recycling
- Implements JEDI campus by implementing policies for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
- Conducts awareness-raising and promotional activities such as expanding sustainability awareness through workshops, seminars, and campaigns
- Operates the ‘Change Makers' program through which students address social and environmental issues
- Operates the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) office, a UN advisory body
- Administers Vision Education projects by operating various programs to bridge educational gaps
